    Cold outreach failures
    in FinTech

FinTech outreach leans on category-level language that tells the reader nothing specific. 'Disruptive.' 'Next-gen.' 'Blockchain-enabled.' These are descriptions of the industry, not the product. The second pattern is fear-based compliance messaging: assume the reader is behind on regulations, then sell the fix.

What makes FinTech outreach uniquely bad

Pattern 01: Category language as pitch

FinTech messages use more abstract jargon per sentence than almost any other industry. 'Next-gen payments orchestration layer' describes every payments company. 'Blockchain-enabled AI-first platform' describes none of them specifically. The pitch is the category description copy-pasted from a pitch deck.

    Pattern 02: Compliance fear plays

FinTech senders love regulatory deadlines. PSD3, PCI DSS, SOX. The playbook: cite a deadline, assume the reader is unprepared, offer a 'compliance readiness assessment' with fake scarcity ('5 slots left'). Compliance teams see through this immediately.

"FinTech outreach mistakes category membership for a value proposition."
